Sitting behind the eight ball...
Last Thursday, sometime late in the evening, our home computer had a heart attack. Not fatal, but it certainly gave us pause - and made us start looking for a new one. Fortunately, my husband knows computer CPR, and after a long curse-filled weekend, managed to get it up and running. And restore most of our files. My hero. Seriously. Because if we'd lost all those pictures, I'd be pissed. As long as you have the pictures...
Managed to get in a quick 3 mile run this morning. Las Vegas is coming up fast, and I need to get serious about the long runs on the weekends. Six weeks left.
I feel like there are so many things I'm behind on, but I'm not too concerned about getting any of them done.
Something else I'm going to try and start blogging about - What's For Dinner Wednesday. Not so much recipes, but ideas to make cooking more fun, easy and enjoyable. My favorite example is Spaghetti and Meatball Sandwiches. Not at the same time - think Wheel of Fortune "Before and After" category. Spaghetti and Meatballs one night, Meatball Sandwiches another.
Spaghetti and Meatball Sandwiches
1 bag frozen "Italian" style meatballs (or you can make your own)
Jar of your favorite sauce (or you can make your own)
Spaghetti Noodles (or you can make your own)
Crusty Loaf of Bread or Buns.
Mozzarella cheese - optional.
Meal One - throw meatballs and sauce in crockpot on low. Stir to cover meatballs with sauce. Cook on low at least four hours or all day. Serve with noodles, a salad, and maybe garlic bread.
Meal Two - warm up left over meatballs in the microwave. Slice bread or buns and make Meatball Sandwiches. I like to sprinkle them with a little cheese and place them under the broiler for a minute or two. Generally, I cut the kids' meatballs in half before putting them in the sandwich - makes it easier for them to eat.
Easy peasy. Cook once, eat twice.
And my pal Aimee tagged me for a Meme.
Seven random things about me.
1. I have an irrational fear of sharks. I think I've covered this before. Shoot.
2. When my husband is out of town I have a very specific way I "lock down" the house at night. Very. Specific. I'd describe it, but you'd think I was crazy.
3. I don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
4. I'm on my own quite a bit with the kids. I don't think anything of loading them up in the car and grocery shopping or running other errands.
Wow. Four. Ok, three. I'll let you know if I think of any more.

my dh has quite a nighttime lock up the house ritual too. when he's out of town he always calls to make sure i've done it too, and I never do, lol. I lock the front door and set the alarm and hope it works, lol.
love the dinner idea, i need some inspiration!
5. I don't follow the rules (as in I didn't finish this meme).
6. I make bitchin (and snuggly!) quilts.
7. I am 1 inch taller than Aimee. So, - way tall.
And I tried the meatball thing last week, everyone - it rocked!
Actually, wait, are you 6 foot? So 2 inches?
We just purchased a new computer and are experiencing the VISTA nightmare. Do NOT purchase a new computer right now.
"Quick three mile run."
Ha!
For me, that would be a slow three mile crawl.
