Review: Even June Cleaver Would Forget the Juice Box

I have gotten to review some really awesome products for ParentBloggers. Recently, I signed up to review "Even Junce Cleaver Would Forget the Juice Box: Cut Yourself Some Slack (and Still Raise Great Kids) in the Age of Extreme Parenting." How's that for a title?

The thing I like about this book is it told me what I already know: I'm doing just fine.

Though I do feel this book has a worthwhile message, for the most part I didn't 'click' with this book. I understand what author Ann Dunnewold is trying to get at: we're too hard on ourselves. Our minds go on autopilot and it's difficult to shut off the diatribes in our head about what a "horrible" mom we are. We find ourselves caught up in the never ending cycle of "I could do more." Parenting in today's world can be a pressure cooker.

The book is broken down into three sections: The Problem, The Solution, and Sharing the Solution. Perhaps my favorite part of Sharing the Solution is the list of 'like-minded' websites to visit.

As for doing my part on Sharing the Solution, leave me a comment if you want this book. I'll do a random drawing and announce the winner on Friday.

Ok I'm interested. Just hearing from someone that I'm doing fine would be nice to hear! Although probably just more marshmellow wars would be in order!
