More ice cream recipes

From the cookbook I'm almost finished with. The first recipe is mine, the second is an old family recipe.

Cocoa Ice Cream
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
½ c cocoa powder
1 c heavy cream
2 c half and half
1 T vanilla extract

Stir together sweetened condensed milk and cocoa power. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth and slightly thickened – about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool slightly. Gradually add cream, half and half, and vanilla. Beat with a whisk until well blended. Refrigerate until cold. Pour in ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s directions.

Burnt Sugar Ice Cream
2 ½ qt milk
3 eggs
2 ½ cups sugar
2 ½ heaping tbsp flour
Cook.
Add 1 pt cream and flavor with burnt sugar*.

*Burn 1 c sugar. When burned add ¼ - ½ c water.

Have the geneology tree finished. In some places it goes back to the 1660's. Pretty cool. Picture pages are done as well. Mom needs to transcribe three more recipes, then I need to work on the pagination. And then I'm done.

What kind of ice cream machine do you have? I bought a Krups one from WS about a month ago, have used it twice, not very successfully. I want to have the perfect vanilla ice cream recipe down before I start to adventure into other flavors.
