The best is yet to come

Since I've become a mother, I can pretty much cry at the drop of a hat.

Don't think this doesn't do it to me...

2009 - what a difference a year makes
Oh, sweet child of mine. You are something else. Nine going on thirty. You are so, painfully mature it makes my heart ache. I wish I'd kept track of the so many times you said, "It's ok Mom, I know," from everything to where something is, to why your younger siblings needed more at the time.

You look every inch of your father, the only outward thing of mine is the color of your eyes. Inside? Inside you're every bit of me. We are so much on the same wavelength that sometimes I don't even have to tell you things - you just know.

I am so proud you're my daughter.

Happy Birthday. (Belated, it was yesterday, but it's still heartfelt)

...

Just look at the last two pictures - ONE YEAR! That's one stinking year. I don't even want to think about next year.

I was thinking about it yesterday . .. she's halfway to 18 . . .yikes :(

Grow a little slower, Big Girl. We need you around a LOT longer. I miss that little A so! But love the big A just as much.

Bah, happy birthday!

Happy belated birthday to Big Girl!

What a big change in the past year...it's just so amazing to see how much they blossom right before your eyes, isn't it?

Oh - I feel the same way - my twins are going to be 7 at the end of March and I find myself looking at photos of their younger selves sooo often - all traces of baby, toddler, preschool are gone. They are perfectly fabulous but those little faces - where are they?

I grew up in Minnesota - been a southern girl for some time now but you can't take the minnesota outta the girl. Found you through Oh, The Joys, Stop by sometime! Happy New Year!
