The picture really doesn't to it justice

All was fine and well yesterday afternoon. I put the finished quilt post up and went on about my day. Usually I'm pretty good about picking up my pins and needles as we have six small feet and four not-so-small feet trotting about.

Somehow... Somehow yesterday I managed to step on a needle. I had my shoes on. The needle went through my shoes and into my foot. It wasn't the pointy end either, it was the eye. I tried to pull it out with my fingers, but it was a no go. I hopped on my good foot to the laundry room and grabbed a pair of pliers.

One swift yank and it came right out.

Remember how I said to get your girl a tool box?

You never know when you might need it.

Today I'm hobbling a bit. There's a nice big bruise on the bottom of my foot.

At least that's the excuse I'm using to sit and sew...

Oh my goodness! I hope it heals quickly.

My dad gave me a toolbox when I graduated high school. It's awesome. I still have it and still use it and I find W scrounging in it sometimes.

Ok. I'm impressed that you blog every day. And with ALL of the stuff in your Etsy store. And with the quilt - and I got the reference btdubs, having read LHOTP at least eleventy million times as a child - but I'm REALLY REALLY impressed with the DIY healthcare! Did you get a refund from BCBS??

Ooooh ow! (And gross.)

You know when I started running, I used to think that it would be source of all my foot woes. I found that really I am my own worst enemy.

Hope it heals up soon...

Oh! I hope it feels better quickly. Somehow I feel it's all my fault... It seems a black cloud has been following me around lately.

Well, it's not just lately, this one seems more ominous and creepy.

Ouch! My mom uses this magnet thing to pick up all her needles after quilting. It gets the ones you can't see!

if you were out walking in the woods, and you got caught in a bear trap...you really would gnaw off your own foot to escape, wouldn't you? ;)
