Those are the breaks, kid
Fortunately, we have a very good pediatric emergency hospital.
Unfortunately, we had to use it last night.
While I was out for a run, my daughter broke her arm.
Fortunately, we have wonderful neighbors that stepped in and took the other two kids so my husband could take her to the hospital.
Clearly, they don't want her in pain...
Fortunately, they gave her plenty of morphine, so as they were trying to ease it back in place it didn't hurt.
Unfortunately, she threw up when we got home.
Fortunately, the kind of break she has (in her growth plate, by her wrist) is a fast healer and will unlikely have any lasting effects.
Unfortunately, she'll be in a cast for 4 -6 weeks.
Fortunately, we live in a world with wonderful medical advances.
Unfortunately, my daughter has this look on her face...
Any healing thoughts you have would be much appreciated.

oh my goodness. Poor thing. How did it happen? How many signatures does she have on her cast now?? And look at that contraption they have her in before they set it. WOW!!!!
Oh no! What happened?
I like the yellow cast, but not that sad sad look on her face. Poor big girl!
Poor thing! I hope she feels better soon!
Oh the poor thing! And just in time for summer too...
Poor big girl :( Although I LOVE the morphine induced look on her face - I'll have what she's having!
Many hugs and healing thoughts coming your way.
BTW - stop by my blog . . .you won something, Mama!
Poor kid! Quite the contraption.
Did you score any good drugs?
Bless her heart! I hope she's feeling better soon. Unfortunately, we've had way too many trips to the ER but we've managed no broken bones yet (desperately searching for some wood to knock on....).
oh, no. and right at the beginning of the summer. that's the pits. hope she heals up quickly!
poor thing !!!!
Oh, Man - That totally stinks! Is it her writing hand? I hope she (and you!) feel better soon. I spent the summer in a wheelchair when I was five due to an accident on a slip-n-slide. No fun when you are a kiddo. Love the yello cast! Can you paint all over it? :D
Oh, poor thing. At least the cast is a cheery color.
Aww bless. What was she doing to hurt herself like that? I hope she gets better soon.
dude, that totally sucks. i hope she's up and at'em again soon.
What a bummer!! Especially being summer and all. I'm guessing she can't go swimming. I'll think 4 weeks only thoughts for you.
Poor baby. I hope she feels better.
Awwwwwwww........look at that face!
