Because I can't post yet about my double-secret-probation project

As always. Julie beat me to the punch. And says it much better than I ever could. Want to know my thoughts on Mother's Day? Read this.

Got it?

Now. Even with our disagreements, my husband does a great job telling me what a good Mama I am.

Very near daily, he tells me how lucky he and the kids are to have me, and that I take great care of them. Especially when he is out of town, like this week, he makes a point to tell me he appreciates what I do to keep things running.

He notices when I do laundry, and when I clean the house. On nights I cook (more often than not), he points out how good the dinner is and has the kids thank me. On nights I don't want to cook, he offers to pick something up or take us out.

How can I complain?

Really, I can't.

Though if I could ask for something...

I'd really like an outdoor clothes rack. Not so much for the winter, but running the dryer in the house in the summer? Not when there's plenty of sunshine and breeze.

Really. That's about all I'm wanting for right now - thing-wise.

Not thing-wise? I'd really like a day of unfettered crafting. Imagine what I could do with that...

i want a baby. but if i can't have a baby, i'll settle for a lilac bush to replace the tree that got uprooted by the storm.

happy mother's day to me,
i'm replacing that tree...

I'd like some time away, or a day to quilt for mother's day. my husband and I are trying to figure out how to make that happen with our crazy schedules and all these kids running around the house. :)

anyway, happy early mother's day. hope you get your day to craft!

Aw, thanks G!

I like the clothes rack idea. It would be a greener option than running the dryer. I may have to look into that!

I love the idea of a clothes rack. Clothes (Sheets especially)smell heavenly after drying on the line outside.

Hope you get the clothes rack! It's such a great idea. And I'm sure you will have 6 helpful hands ready to assist with laundry:)

My husband read an article out of our newspaper the other day saying that in some part of the States people aren't allowed to hang their clothes outside - is this true? Many of us don't even own dryers here and our washing goes out any weather. It's a classic Aussie image the Hills hoist in the back garden swirling with the washing. I do own a dryer and love to use it when I'm desperate but even then it's mostly when the clothes are nearly dry. We also use an indoor clothes rack as the central heating dries stuff out on that too. I hope you get one - I love hanging out the washing!

Louise - depending on the neighborhood - some have covenants that state you can't have a clothesline. I would stand out if I had one - only one other person that I know of in our neighborhood has one. Of course, I grew up in the country, so we did hang out wash out as much as we could!

And yes, I'm still looking for one. Suggestions?
