Sunday

There is something very satisfactory about being the first one up Sunday morning. It's not that I don't love the fact that if I do sleep in, my kids can get themselves some breakfast and turn on the TV... I do love that. It's that the house is quiet. Very, very quiet.

Today's going to be a busy day. We have the Big Girl's 'friend' birthday party and later some neighbors over for the "Big Game."

I used the quiet hour this morning to get started on the cooking.

Yes. The cooking. The food does not cook itself, much like the laundry does not wash/dry/fold itself.

The roast is roasting the the crockpot. The giant cupcakes are cooling, waiting for the girls to frost and eat them. The baked beans are mixed and in the fridge, so I can just put them in the oven later. The cinnamon rolls were a great way for the kids to wake up. The bacon crisps are now cooking 'low and slow' - making for a tasty game time treat. The carrots and celery are cut into sticks. There's more yet to do, but it will get done. If not, the neighbors coming by will help. No biggie.

Yes, Sunday is all about the food.

All about the food...

I like this post (as much as I like a quiet house early in the morning or late at night.)

Thanks.

It doesn't seem to matter what hour I get up -- even as early as 4:30 am -- my two hear me walk down the hallway and pop out of their beds. I would love an hour of quiet in the morning.

I forgot about your bacon crisps. I think it's time I make a request of Hun.
