Fresh Snow

Finally - fresh snow and warmer temperatures. And by warmer, I mean 23 F. The kids have been going stircrazy inside with the colder weather, but yesterday was the perfect storm if you're a kid. Three to five inches of snow and warm enough to play in it...

Even my inside loving Toddler was out for about an hour.

And The Boy? My husband told me something once when we were dating, and I've never forgotten it.

Every grown man is a miracle.

Now that I have a five year old man-child, I believe it. If someone could clue me in to the snowboarding helmet etiquette, I'd appreciate it. Like - do you wear a hat underneath? How do you keep your ears warm? Would a bike helmet work in a pinch?

It's hard to see here, but my oldest loves taking her little sister on the sled. She's so accommodating. They went fast too. The snow had melted enough the top layer turned into ice, so the little bit more snow made it pretty slick.

These are the good old days. These are the days they'll look back on fondly. I hope.

There was hot chocolate waiting for them on the other end. Yes, some days I just heat up milk and add chocolate syrup. Other days, like yesterday, I do it right.

Sounds like they all had great fun. Real hot chocolate is a hit in our house too.

I'd say the bike helmet is certainly better than just his hard little head :) Could he wear that and one of the ear wrap things?
