What I did, what I did...

Yesterday, I decided to start with the apron. Big mistake. I looked at the numbers and knew I would need to make some modifications. I just didn't realize until I cut the fabric that I didn't make enough modification. Apparently, the gal in the picture is the size of my eight year old.

So, I wadded the fabric up and moved on to the felted sweaters.

I cut one of them up and started sewing. I have a great start to what could be a really cute purse, I'm just not sure how to proceed as my sewing machine was gagging a little bit over the dense fabric.

So, I wadded it up and put it back in the box.

As a last resort, I pulled out the Amy Butler fabric. I spent more on this fabric than I normally do, but it was worth it. Like working with butter. Mmmmm. Butter.

Not sure where I wanted to go with it, I picked out two of the four and ended up with this:

A reversible purse - with two pockets - one inside and one outside. The straps are done so they match the pocket.

Now I just have to decide if I'm going to etsy this, or keep it for myself. What to do...

The purse ROCKS! I love the colors so much. The fabric scrumptious.

Crazy about the apron dimensions!

And I wondered what you would do with the sweaters!!

Love the purse, love the fabric, LOVE that it's reversable!

Did you have a pattern or just make it up?

I could see a lot of these selling on Etsy!!

I love that fabric!

Nothing worse than a pattern that turns out to be...well, not what you thought. I have a valance balled up in a closet upstairs that was supposed to be for the dining room in our old house - some adorable Schumacher fabric that I loved with monkeys on it. Well, the pattern sucked and the more I worked on it the worse it got. The good thing is I did use some of the fabric to redo the seat of a chair. Hrumph.

Love the purse! I promise I'll call you about that other stuff. Crazy around here. Of course, I still manage to blog . . . .

The purses are lovely. Could you maybe sell the aprons as a child item on your Etsy? I'm sure there are parents out there looking for that sort of thing for playgroups, helping out in the kitchen and so forth.

This purse is AWESOME!! I love the fabric!

I just got a sewing machine for Christmas and have only made a few linus blankets for babies and a few pair of pj bottoms. My next project is going to be a purse. Did you use any certain pattern?

I can't seem to remember where I came across your blog (maybe Mom-O-Matic) but I enjoy reading your posts! Thanks!
