I never thought three little words could change my shopping so much.
Made in China.
With all the toy recalls, I have decided to not buy anything, knowingly, from China.
Am I overreacting? Maybe. But it leaves me to wonder what what will be next?

Heck NO you're not overreacting. How would you like it to be YOUR kid that they find as the one who discovered the lead paint on the new toy as a result of the Emergency Room testing ? Not me. Just the other day I was forced to stop at McDonalds for dinner for me and the girls and I almost blew a gasket after wards when I saw the older one with that damned toy in her mouth. That was the thought going through my head was I hope that toy didn't have lead paint. I am ready to do some serious house cleaning of toys.

hell, i think bob's getting a bb gun for xmas this year--he might lose an eyeball, but at least it won't kill him if he chews on it.
We had to do a little shopping for my husbands grandson the other day. I was very nervous and looked at several toys. The problem EVERYTHING is made in China. I always thought that you should stick with the major brands, Playskool, Fisher Price and whatnot. But with the recall that is not even safe. I downloaded the toy recall list today. I try to just stick with name brands. You are not 100% safe but....
Right there with you - and unfortunately one my almost 6 year old children still puts every single thing in her mouth. The other day she ate the foam off of her headphones and then complained that the plastic was hurting her head. There appears to be no recall list for non-toy items that should not be munched. I hope she doesn't eat the Wii that we're getting for the holidays.
You have every right to be concerned . . .
joansy, if she ate the wii, do you think you could still play by picking her up and waving her around in the direction of the tv? that would be AWESOME. :P
