Weekend Recap
Visited my parents, sister, and babies this weekend. All are doing well. For the most part.
Babies are off oxygen and done with IV's and left only with feeding tubes.. Just now trying to get their weight up. Did get a call tonight that the Itty Bitty Boy has a murmur in his heart. There is a hole somewhere. Apparently there is a medication to help close it up, but if it doesn't work, surgery may be necessary. We're trying not to put the cart in front of the horse, and seeing if the medication (and time) works before getting all worked up. Yea, right.
The babies are doing well with the feeding. My sister has been pumping, and keeping up with both of them.
I did take my camera and got a few more pictures Saturday afternoon. Sunday, my sister was wanting to see them so we headed off to Walgreens and printed them off. Also made her baby announcements at the same time. Of the oodles I took, there was one really, really good one.
I am thinking of asking for a new, fabulous camera for the next holiday. I am disappointed in the number that came back fuzzy. Ah well. At least there are a few good ones.
On to other news. Want to know why I'm smiling in the above picture, besides the fact that I'm holding two babies?
That morning I had run 9 miles.
We woke up that morning, my husband boarded his jet plane, the kids and I loaded up and headed to my parents. We got there about an hour later that I'd hoped, but it worked out for the best as my parents were running late as well. The kids and I picked up some lunch, as well as milk and juice, and headed to their house.
But only one thing was running though my brain. Long Run. Nine miles.
Dad had mentioned that he could take me to the gym, but I begged off hoping for an outdoor run. Weather was perfect - 45 degrees and no real wind. Decided to run a new trail not far from their house - a three mile loop. Dad dropped me off and went back home to eat lunch. I am not good eating and running. My food could wait.
I stretched a little, and started off. I was disappointed to discover I'd forgotten my watch, but I did look at my cell phone before I started.
Around the loop I went, really enjoying myself. Upon completing the first loop, I stopped to check my time and get a quick drink. Thirty three minutes. Best time yet. Tucked my phone back in my pocked and went off again. I felt so good. Second lap, thirty two minutes. Even better. I haven't done that since high school.
Dad joined me for the final lap. I had to wait for a few minutes; I told him it would take me longer than it did. While I was waiting, I called Mitzi, and let her know what I was up to. Stretched out a little more and off we went. I was a little winded, but managed to get it done in thirty four minutes.
This was my best run so far, and also the longest. After the three crappy runs earlier in the week, I was due. The next day I was a little stiff, but after stretching for a few minutes, felt fine.
Sunday afternoon I decided that we would stay another night. Called the Big Girl's school and let them know she wouldn't be there Monday. The weekend had gone too fast. Splitting time between my parents, my sister, her babies, my kids... The weekend just wasn't long enough. So I made it one day longer.
I'm the mom, what I say around here goes.
