Hanging in there

Thanks for all the well wishes. I managed to hang on through the weekend, but feel worse today. Nothing specific, just generally achy, coughy, and bitchy.

Mom's home recovering from her ACL Reconstruction. She stayed at the hospital overnight for observation, then headed home to recover. Sounds like she's doing well; Dad's catering to her every whim. I asked if she needed a bell to ring for service, but she said no, that she's doing just fine. I told her if she's "Fine" then she's probably not taking her pain medication like she should.

Got the oldest off to school, now left with two. Need to run some errands today as tonight is the monthly girl scout meeting and I don't have my supplies yet. We're working on the "Animals" try-it. A couple weeks ago we went to the zoo. Very intersting. Tonight we're making pine cone bird feeders. Due to a couple peanut allergies, we're using lard mixed with cornmeal rather than peanut butter. Also be playing a couple games and such.

Saturday bought some new shoes. If that just doesn't make everything better. Nothing too fancy, but fun nevertheless to scoot around town. I did get some others, but mainly for when I want to be the Alpha Mommy or just get dressed up a little bit. Now I must go upstairs and apply the 'one in - one out' rule. I have plenty of pairs of shoes I rarely wear, but getting rid of them is still hard. Hell, getting rid of most anything is hard for me as I can apply a sentimental attachement to it.

Woke up cold one tuesday,
I'm looking tired and feeling quite sick,
I felt like there was something missing in my day to day life,
So I quickly opened the wardrobe,
Pulled out some jeans and a T-Shirt that seemed clean,
Topped it off with a pair of old shoes,
That were ripped around the seams,
And I thought these shoes just don't suit me.

Hey, I put some new shoes on,
And suddenly everything is right,
I said, hey, I put some new shoes on and everybody's smiling,
It so inviting,
Oh, short on money,
But long on time,
Slowly strolling in the sweet sunshine,
And I'm running late,
And I dont need an excuse,'cause I'm wearing my brand new shoes.

Glad your mom is recovering well. I cant tell you the number of pairs of shoes that are in this house. I'm guessing that it is better and 50. (counting the girls too)
