Before and After: Craft Room

I finally finished my craft room. Took everything out, painted, put together some IKEA shelves, and put everything back. Did a lot of tossing and donating along the way as well. To get a lay of the land: It's an L-shaped room in the basement. 7 ft ceilings (nice, because when painting I didn't need a ladder!). Mine. All mine.

I purchased the Expedit and Billy shelving from IKEA. I also purchased 12 bins that fit the Expedit system and some smaller totes for the Billy shelving. In all I spent $398 on this project: shelving, bins, paint, and an itty bitty thing of 'mud' to fix the nail holes in the drywall.

Tomorrow: What I learned about myself while doing this...

We just bought that same Expedit bookcase (in white) for my 2.5 year old's room a couple of weekends ago. As well as 10 of the cubby cubes. Do you have an IKEA nearby? We had to drive 2.5 hours to get to the closest one. But I love how much storage space there is. Your craft room looks great. I started organizing my scrapbook area and guess what- I have no time to scrap!

You have once gain inspired me!!!

We do not have an IKEA nearby - closest is in KC or Dallas. However, they have great online catalogue, too.

Looking forward to what you learned!

Long Island Dad: Thanks! I'm most proud of getting together the big bookcase - by myself!

1girl2boys - love the show as well. Thanks!

Builder Mama - Thanks! I'm really pleased in how it turned out. Initially I wanted it more blue, but with the green carpet...

Kristin - Wish I was closer, I'd love to help!

G-man - I'd love to help you and the mrs.

leeanthro - We have an IKEA 10 minutes away. The one right next to the Mall of America. I bet you'll be surprised at how much time you have once everything is organized!

Tree- Glad I inspired! I frequent the online catalogue!
