Last day - school and giveaway!

Did you ever have a last day of school that included one of these?
Me neither. That's my newly minted first grader in the camo and white shirt...

Also today's the last day to enter my May/June giveaway!

With the number of entries, I've sweetened the pot with three hand crocheted dish cloths! Now it's the apron, a Hot Pack, and dish cloths.

I'll give you all until midnight tonight, and post the winner tomorrow.
Have a great rest-of-the-day.

First Day, part deux

Who would think that two and a half hours would be such a big deal?

It was.

He was so very excited to get on the bus yesterday.

Though no tears were shed, it certainly gave me pause.

In the end, the Toddler and I hopped of to the local Caribou Coffee and had a treat.

We picked up lunch, then headed home to wait for the bus.
He was excited to be home. I was excited to have him home.

I won't cry...

Really.

Today is the first day of school. Sort of. The Big Girl heads off on the bus this morning for second grade. The Boy has a 45 minute "orientation" for Kindergarten with the first day tomorrow. The Toddler? She's pissed that she has to wait until Friday for preschool.

Me?

I'll save my tears for Monday morning. Monday, when all three will be in school at the same time.

Tears of joy I tell you. Tears of joy.

Hotel room at the water park. Kids loved the bunkbeds.
We were going to take the kids to Worlds of Fun while on vacation, but it was already closed. Fortunately, they've never been there, so we were able to substitute a trip to Union Station without much fanfare. They had a really neat train set-up:

As well as Science City. They turned a sewer line into a slide. Gives new meaning to coming down the poop chute.

In some ways I'm sad to see summer go, but really - it's time.
