Market Day Bag, part two.

BurdaStyle has all sorts of free printable patterns.

I think it's pretty slick I can print them off at home, use a little tape, and I'm good to go. I love this fabric from ReproDepot.

Overall, I think this pattern is pretty spiffy.

I do have a couple issues. The first being, I don't have an "overlock" stitch on my ancient machine. I settled for using bias tape that I just had lying around. I wish I was kidding. How many people have double-fold olive bias tape? Besides me... I do like that it added a bit of strength to the handles.
Now, the next issue is my own fault. I sewed the handles 'wrong.' The bag still works, though.
The other thing? I think I'd rather have a tie to to keep it together versus a pouch. Something else? I'd box out the corners.
I know it sounds like I have a lot of problems with this pattern. It's not that - at all. I just look at patterns like this as a springboard. Also, after I make the changes, I'll put a few on etsy. If you're interested, feel free to leave a comment or email me. The only issue then will be what color...
This is my stash of fabrics that are more than a yard. I don't even want to show you my stash of fabrics that are less than a yard.

Speaking of etsy... It's been awhile since I've put something new. Here's a little baby blanket I threw together the other day...

And Anne... Dear, sweet, patient Anne...
I have not forgotten about this. I was trying to machine stitch the back of the binding down, but was disgusted with the results. It's on the stairs now, waiting for me to carry it up. I'll finish the binding tonight when the kids are in bed and get it in the mail tomorrow!

Baby DG is going to love that blanket from Aunt Anne! It's beautiful.

Me, too, on the bags.

the market totes are great, except i now only go grocery shopping every 2 weeks, so i'd need to haul about 15 of them to super target with me. and then i wouldn't have anything to scoop cat food by-product into...

Those are really nice, I like how they almost look like a repurposed vintage apron.

Saweet!!! I absolutely love it, G. Thank you SO very much. You know what it so great? You are going to get to meet Miss DG in just 11 short weeks. Did you realize it was that close? I can't wait to see this awesome quilt in person... but even more, I can't wait to see you in person. :)
