Hump Day.

I dream in pattern...
Yesterday was a pretty productive day, all in all...

I crocheted this stocking cap for my dad. Maybe. I just may keep it and make him another. We were watching Casino Royale, and can I just say that the new 007 may be a man of few words, but the shots of him in the swim trunks more than made up for it?

I cobbled together this purse while the kids had afternoon Quiet Time. We haven't had Nap Time for quite awhile, but will have Quiet Time until they leave for college.

Both exterior and interior pockets. Amy Butler fabric. I still have a quarter-yard left - I'm saving the best for last. Regular brown cotton for the inside, I used stabilizer for the fabric and the pocket- gives it a little more 'heft,' while still being supple.

Can I tell you guys something? I'm starting to dream in patterns. I mean, I think about my fabric, and as I'm going to sleep, try and figure out what I'm going to do with it. Then I start trying to figure out how to do it.

Yesterday, I also came up with this pretty pleated apron...

I went to my fabric stash in the basement, and found this darling yellow flower fabric. The flowers are pretty small, and it's hard to tell from the picture, but the yellow is the same color as some of the foods. I'll be putting it on etsy, tomorrow maybe.

Cold enough, for ya?

Over Thanksgiving, we put all the pop and extra food in the garage - it was the perfect temperature. Now, it's mid January, and a different story...

It isn't really that cold. Yet. I mean, the pop did explode, but it didn't make too much of a mess as it was frozen.

The next couple of days are supposed to get a little cooler. The top number for the day is the high.

Today I went to the store, and picked up some supplies for Operation Don't Leave The House.

I wish I was kidding.

Sweety Hearts

Today was a pretty big day. The Toddler's first Field Trip. We went to see "Mike the Baker."

I think she was more excited about riding the big yellow bus.

Turns out this guy just talks about baking. He brought the big mixing vat, whisk, muffin tray and such to show the kids. He was more a 'storyteller' - I was hoping for some samples.

Ah well. At least she got to ride the bus.

After The Boy came home from Kindergarten, we headed out for a couple errands - the first being lunch. Stopped at the Kwik-e-Mart and they each picked out a corn dog. Fine, whatever. We were about to leave, when The Toddler spied a Valentine's Day display. "Mama, I know what these are - Sweety-hearts!"

How can you resist that?

And yes, they taste just like I remember.

I love your projects. I'm mediocre at best with a sewing machine, but I'd like to try to learn. I think you're partially responsible for my inspiration!

Also, damn that's cold!

Felicia - welcome! Thanks so much!

I had a can of pop blow up in my car! I took it to the car wash and vacuumed up all the pieces of slush...I'm sure the car wash people were happy when things thawed out a bit.

That purse is really cute and has inspired me to think about dusting off my sewing machine. Although, it's going to need a tune up before I can do much with it.
