Hump Day

There's more than one way to diet...
Right now, I'm really sick of it. Tired. Bored. Apathetic. My kitchen. I figure I spend between 3 - 6 hours there. A day. It's my office for the most part: cooking, dishes, laundry, feeding, hugging, helping with homework. It's where I spend the majority of my day. Right now, it's uninspiring. Bland taupe. Yesterday, I picked up a gallon of a nice, dark, gingery brown. I'm not quite sure how much I'll paint, but at least two walls. See what that does. I'm also planning on organizing my cabinets. There's quite a bit of stuff I need to find a better home for, and probably some stuff I should get rid of. I guess you could say I'm putting my kitchen on a diet.

Snow.
It finally snowed here New Year's Eve. The kids have been loving it. I do think it takes almost as long to get them dressed as the amount of time they spend outside. I love that we live in an area they can go outside without me. That and they're not out for too long at any one given point in time. Which brings me to another point - is four too young to learn to snowboard? The Boy thinks it's pretty neat and would love to learn. This is the kid, that shortly after his fourth birthday, we took the training wheels off his bike. He can also ride a Razor-type scooter and likes to "do tricks" on it. He's the one that will give me gray hair.

Going Up?
Last night I finished painting the stairway. It gets rather high at the top - I think around 17 feet. It took quite a bit of manuvering, as well as two different ladders, to get the job done. It does look pretty good, if I do say so. I had to borrow a broom handle from the neighbor to reach some of the high spots. Just a few places that are a little thin, but I should get it finished today. I took a couple pictures last night, but can't find the cable to connect the camera to the computer. Soon enough, you can see the insanity I create when my husband goes out of town.

It is not too young. I have heard 4 is when you can start kids on a board/skis. They don't have enough muscle development until then.

At lest it will be snow he is falling on...

I am impressed! I detest painting! When we moved into a brand new house last year, one of my main reasons for choosing it was the thought of not having to paint for a while! Of course, the builder, in his INFINITE wisdom, used flat paint! YEAH! Flat paint and children do not go together well! Therefore, I will be painting again much sooner than I had hoped! UGH!

Just wait until your 17 year old asks to drive! Now that is scary. 4 on a snow board, you bet, the younger the better, cause they are closer to the ground and don't get hurt as much, and heal faster when they do. Have fun in the snow.
