Finally Friday

Yesterday, they delivered the wrong pavers. Again. After I spent almost an hour there. With my kids. Pointing directly to what I wanted. They still got it wrong. I called and managed to speak to one of the four people that helped me yesterday. He said he'd pull the bricks himself off their lot. I don't know if he did or not, but it was right. This time. For my inconvenience, they're refunding the original $50 delivery fee.

Told the kids they could go out and watch, but to stay out of the way.

I guess every half inch does make a difference. Notice the difference on the two pallets - they're stacked the same number of blocks high, and I can only assume that the pallets they're on are roughly the same.

We still have one of the incorrect pallets sitting on the driveway, as I didn't want the oil spewing truck picking them up. They'll take care of that "later".

Also delivered today - 15 tons of rock. I'll get a picture of it when I have something to compare it to. I do know one thing, that's a lot of wheelbarrows full.

One other thing - this is the "Bed Edger with Brick Blade." Husband used it to carefully carve a 4"x4" path around the house. It took less than an hour to do this and to carve up the back yard so I could fix the large planting. The pavers fit snug as a bug in a rug...

The back planting - the picture shows about half of it. Yesterday I reseated the black plastic edger and weeded and mulched about half of it. I applied sunscreen, but forgot my back. Know how when you bend over, and your shirt pops up a little? Yea. Now I have a three inch wide patch across my lower back that's sunburned. What I have done looks really nice.

This weekend we'll most likely get the pavers in, and will see how much of this rock we can move as well.

Good think I stocked up on vodka earlier this week...

See, remember what I told you the other day...the only prerequisite for working at a home-improvement place seems to be having a pulse? ARGH.

Your yard looks great, though. I may take you up on that landscape offer. If I ever get my stupid retaining walls so that I can actually plant something. Double ARGH.
