Roast Flavored Roast
With my husband gone all week, I like to try and cook on the weekends. When he was home, I'd cook most every night of the week, and take the weekends 'off'. Now, though, I find myself cooking a lot more.
Here's a little gem I threw together last night.
Pork Roast
1 Hormel Roast Flavored Roast. (Yes, there really is such a thing.)
6 - 8 Red potatoes: whole, half or quartered, depending on size.
1/2 a bag of baby carrots
1 sm. onion quartered
Combine potatoes, carrots and onion - salt and pepper. Place roast in pan, and surround with vegetables. Bake at 325 for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Remove roast to cutting board, and let set for at least 10 minutes before cutting. Remove vegetables, and cover (to keep warm). Add 1 c water and 1 package pork roast gravy to pan (less water if a lot of drippings). Bring to a boil. Slice roast, serve with veggies and gravy. A salad with Blue Cheese dressing is a nice accompaniment. Husband made very encouraging sounds while eating this.
All I needed was the bow in my hair, an apron, and heels.
