Applesauce as Conditioner?

Let me start by saying my baby has the most beautiful hair. Strawberry blonde, and baby fine, we get compliments all the time.

I think I know the secret.

She smears food in her hair.

She doesn't use a napkin, she uses her hair. Anytime after breakfast, I'm bound to find little gems of the previous meal. Lately, she's been demanding to use silverware - and I'm giving her easy self-feed foods like pudding, applesauce, and yogurt. She loves it, but inevitably ends up with a lot of it in her hair.

Every night I give her a bath, and gently wash out the remains of the day. As her hair drys, it takes on a beautiful sheen - that of hair that's never been altered - never been colored, permed, cut, blow-dried, moussed, gelled, teased, or picked... Just hair. As I blow it with big puffs of air from my lungs, she laughs and laughs and laughs throwing her head back and leaning so far back I can barely support her. She leans up again, waiting for the next puff of air.

Right now, though, I've just gotten scolded for wiping out several spoonfuls of applesauce from her hair. It's matted and still a little sticky - but that's what I get. She woke up while I was trying to clean out the pantry. Food was everywhere, including my mouth. I know one way to pacify her is with food. Applesauce and a spoon bought me fifteen minutes to finish up. Then the real clean up began.

Tonight, I'll gently scrub again. Knowing the beautiful strawberry blond will be back.

LMAO! I am living your life.

Yesterday Ace had cake in her highchair out on the deck - it was a gorgeous 80 degree day and the midwest isn't going to see many more of those so we were living it up. FIL mentioned it was still out there hours later - it looked like it was going to rain. I was secretly hoping it would...
